Guided Walk Celebrating the Bay’s Railway Heritage Arnside-Milnthorpe – Sunday 26th April‏

A guided walk organised by Morecambe Bay Partnership from Arnside to Milnthorpe led by Adrian Taylor from the Cumbrian Railways Association.  A chance to explore Morecambe Bay through the story of its railway.  Enjoy the views and wildlife of the Kent Estuary whilst learning more about the history of the Kent Viaduct and The Furness Railway.  Features along the way include Arnside Station and goods yard, the Arnside to Hincaster branch railway, Sandside Station and Quarry, and the site where the impressive Bela Viaduct once stood near Milnthorpe. 
Please wear sensible walking shoes or boots and bring a waterproof and any drinks or snacks you may need along the way. Meeting point: Arnside Pier – Time: 2pm – Route length: 6.5km or 4.1 miles.  Cost: £3 per person as a contribution towards the return coach transport. This will be provided from Milnthorpe back to Arnside at approximately 16:30

Unfortunately this walk is not suitable for wheelchair users.
